Description: From the fall of 2025 to 2026, Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut marked its centennial year. For 100 years, the college has educated students in the liberal arts steeped in the Dominican tradition and informed by the four Dominican pillars: Study, Prayer, Community, and Service. To celebrate its historic century of excellence, Albertus Magnus College created The Centennial Silks Collection. Designed by Albertus Magnus alumna Erin Molkenthin '24, '26 M.B.A., this silk scarf proudly displays the college's Catholic heritage and academic traditions as a piece of wearable history. The scarf's design is inspired by the stained glass windows in the College's Saint Catherine of Siena Chapel, which were designed by long-time Albertus professor of fine arts, Sr. Thoma Swanson, O.P. Woven into the designs are meaningful symbols and icons from the Dominican Sisters of Peace, such as the fleur-de-lis, a traditional French symbol dating to the founding of the Order of Preachers, with its bands represented in the four colors of the Dominican Pillars. Also featured is the jonquil, a flower rich in symbolism for the Sisters of Peace, representing hope and resilience. Each scarf is a poignant reminder of the rich history of Albertus Magnus College and the bright future ahead.
