The Society of American Archivists (SAA) America 250 Task Force presents 250 for the 250th, an online repository that tells the story of our country in documents. Sourced from institutions across the United States and internationally, the collection aims to highlight the full range of America's documentary heritage and the role archives have played in preserving and understanding our history. Submissions are organized according to the following themes and categories: Unfinished Revolutions, Power of Place, We the People American Experiment, Doing History, and Regional Collections. With generous support from Preservica, the 250 for the 250th initiative extends beyond the celebrations in 2026 to provide a substantial and enduring archival resource available to all.

"Silent footage from the WWL-TV Collection, filmed in black and white on 16mm. This important historical footage was recently scanned by the Louisiana State Archives in 4K to ensure it is preserved for the future. Captured on November 14, 1960, this footage documents the historic day at William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans, when six year old Ruby Bridges became the first African American student to attend the previously all-white school."
