The Society of American Archivists (SAA) America 250 Task Force presents 250 for the 250th, an online repository that tells the story of our country in documents. Sourced from institutions across the United States and internationally, the collection aims to highlight the full range of America's documentary heritage and the role archives have played in preserving and understanding our history. Submissions are organized according to the following themes and categories: Unfinished Revolutions, Power of Place, We the People American Experiment, Doing History, and Regional Collections. With generous support from Preservica, the 250 for the 250th initiative extends beyond the celebrations in 2026 to provide a substantial and enduring archival resource available to all.

A letter written by Julius Rosenberg to his wife, Ethel, on the eve of May Day. Julius writes of the importance of the labor movement during McCarthyism, his optimism regarding their trial, and expresses his love and affection for Ethel and their sons. The letter was written less than two months before Julius and Ethel were executed.
